Minis, especially van versions, featured throughout the series, and one of the favourites was the B-registered Ashfordby police hack, registration BOA 430B. Finished in grey, the van really looked the part as it did its bit catching criminals and carrying road signs around.

We have to reveal, thanks to the van’s current owner, Alan Coleman, that the van in fact dates from 1978. Much work has been done, including a re-spray (by Alan) and new floorpans. The littlechanged design means the Minivan fits perfectly into the world of a decade before it was built, and is still a practical and usable classic for 2020, with great spares and club support.
