HAMMOND’S JAG COULD BE YOURS

Top Gear star’s Jaguar XJR and Vauxhall Heritage cars in latest sale

-

AJaguar XJR previously owned by Top Gear and The Grand Tour star, Richard Hammond, is among the classics heading to Brightwells’ next online-only outing.

The sale also features several cars from Vauxhall Motors’ Heritage Collection. Anyone after a full-size PA/PB/PC model will be out of luck, but there some attractive pre-war models and some modern classics too, all offered at no-reserve.

Brightwells’ head of classic motoring, Matthew Parkin, said: ‘ We’re delighted that Vauxhall has entrusted us with the sale of these vehicles. To our knowledge, this is the first time that any Vauxhall Heritage vehicles have been offered at auction, and with no reserve, we’re expecting a healthy interest in these cars and commercials, all of which are highly original and complete.’

The sale also includes a 1933 Rover 14 with good pre-war rally history, a tidy 1955 Austin A50 and the alwayspopular MGB, in this case a 1967 GT that requires re-commissioning.

In the more expensive segment a 1939 SS Jaguar 1.5-litre saloon and a just-restored 1949 Triumph 2000 Roadster bring more variety, while the prize for most unusual entry (and the classic most likely to upset the marque purists) could be garnered by the 1984 Classic Roadsters SS Jaguar replica, which features a GRP body and Ford Mustang 2.8-litre running gear.
