CHECK THE BRAKES

ABS was fitted from 1987, but brake problems could point to failed pressure accumulators. Bentley recommended a hydraulic service at six years/96,000 miles with pipework replaced regardless of condition, but regular inspection of the flexi-hoses will suffice in practice; replacing them will land you with a four-figure bill, as will changing discs and pads all round.
