Classic Car Weekly readers are being encouraged to vote for the winner of a prestigiou­s award celebratin­g the pandemic’s lockdown heroes.

The winner of the Club Hero prize in this year’s National Car Club Awards will be chosen by CCW readers, who have until midnight this Friday (18 March) to vote for their favourite. The winner, along with the rest of the gongs at this year’s awards, will be unveiled on the show’s live stage at the NEC on Saturday.

The nomination­s include Steve Conry, praised by the Avenger Sunbeam Owners’ Club for helping the club to grow throughout the pandemic, Leah Guildard Watts, for her work on the Jensen Owners’ Club’s magazine, including through her maternity leave, and racing-puma. co.uk’s Simon Crosby, for helping 30 restoratio­ns of Ford Racing Pumas with his expertise on the car.

The Heinkel Trojan Club’s Nick Haddon has been nominated for his work in sourcing spares for the bubble cars and organising events to promote them, Chris Wickers has been highlighte­d by the Volvo Owners’ Club for his involvemen­t with events and its magazine,

Driver, and Stewart Curtis has been commended for his work promoting events and attracting new members to Classic Corvette Club UK. David Hemmings has also been praised by Porsche Club GB for his work on its 928 Register, being commended as one of the ‘unsung heroes of the UK’S classic car scene’.
