Rover P5b values in V8-propelled resurgence

-

Perhaps their 50th anniversary has something to with it, but the V8-engined version of the venerable Rover P5 is firmly back on buyers’ radar. Values have jumped by a third already in 2017, though as ever most of the business and top prices involves the coupé model. They are regularly topping £20k now and some dealers are asking a lot more. But stick to a full-height roof and you can still find some very tidy saloons for £10-13k, and unless you regularly travel in P5 packs most people can’t really tell the difference. Perhaps even more than most, condition is all with these, because a few rust bubbles on the rear wings can spell big rebuild costs – but find a good one and you can hardly fail.
