Owning a BMW M535i

-

‘A chap asked us to quote on re-commissioning this car having inherited it, but it needed quite a bit of work so he instead enquired about breaking it and selling for parts,’ says David Peters of The Classic Car Company. ‘However, the car was solid and complete and I knew how rare manual M535is are, so we had to save it.

‘We’ve spent around £8000; parts have been tricky, but Munich Legends is amazing at sourcing them. Work has included repairs to the ECU, re-commissioning of the braking system, gearbox seals and linkages, drive belts, bushes and track rod ends, as well as a full interior refurbishment and paint correction, both of which we do in-house.’

Once complete, David headed off to South Wales in it with his wife for a long weekend. ‘It gobbled the road up and didn’t miss a beat. I’m glad it’s been saved, because the drive is incredible, and the good news is that it’s now for sale.’
