Owning a Jaguar E-type Series 2 FHC
This S2 E-type is one of just 70 Light Blue examples produced in 1969/70. ‘It was a Jaguar XJ6 colour and of the total, just six were made for the UK with the rest going to the United States,’ explains its owner Michael Holt.
‘I bought it because of the car’s one owner/ family history and mileage of just 57,000; it’s never been restored and is still in original condition. In eight years of ownership it’s only need new tyres at £340 (for all four) last year and has proven very reliable. Even if it had needed work, parts availability is very good with no difficulties.
‘It’s maintained by Grahame Bull at Camberley Marine & Sports Cars, who also brought its availability to my attention. I only budget around £250-£300 per year to run it and the insurance costs £440, but that’s a block policy that includes my other two classic cars.
‘It’s just such a smooth and exhilarating car to drive.’
