E-type at 11

I will be keeping your January issue with its ‘E-type at 60’ section in a very safe place. In 1973 my brother-in-law took me for a wild spin in his friend’s new silver-onblack Jaguar E-type V12 convertible.

I was 11 at the time, and that ride started my life-long obsession with V12 cars. I have ridden in nothing as cool as that E-type in the subsequent 47 years! Unfortunately, he wrote off the E-type on a rain-slicked Toronto road a few days later but thankfully he walked away with only a few bruises. Thanks again for the excellent issue on the E-type!
