► The DB6 was launched on October 1965 as the final evolution of the classic DB shape originatin­g with 1958’s DB4. It featured a longer wheelbase, Kamm tail, split front bumpers and a raised roofline for rear passengers. Full Superlegge­ra constructi­on was also dropped, despite the badging. Standard cars had 282bhp, Vantages 325bhp.

► Open-top Volante was unveiled at the 1966 British Motor Show. These were separate to the 1965-1966 ‘short chassis’ Volantes, which used the DB5 platform.

► August 1969 saw the DB6 MKII with flared arches to accommodat­e wider DBS wheels. It was also available with fuel injection. Interior redesign included DBS seats. Discontinu­ed 1970.
