CHOOSE YOUR JAGUAR MK2
► Essentially a heavily re-designed Jaguar 2.4/3.4-litre (retrospectively named MKI), the Mk2 was launched in 1959. Accompanying the existing XK engines was a new 3.8-litre iteration.
► A Daimler version, featuring the marque’s 2.5-litre V8, joined the range in 1962.
► The 3.8-litre Mk2 was dropped from the range in late 1967, ahead of the launch of the new XJ6. The remaining models were all given three-number codes instead – 2.4 became 240, 3.4 340, and Daimler V8 was re-named 250. Slotting in below the new XJ, these new models were identified by their single-blade bumpers and Ambla leatherette interior on the 240 and 340.
► New XJ6 variants replaced the 240, 340 and Daimler 250 in 1969.
