IN THE TRADE
NEW CLASSIC AUCTION 1
Bucking the trend of taking sales online, Letchworth Motor Auctions (LMA) is set to launch a series of traditional live classic sales. The company has been operating regular motor auctions in Letchworth, Hertfordshire for more than 40 years. The first of its Classic, Retro & Performance Motor Auctions will take place on 9 July with more than 60 vehicles to be offered including the pictured Triumph Stag, with another on 29 October. LMA plans to expand to four classic sales next year. See letchworthmotorauctions.co.uk
NEW CLASSIC AUCTION 2
Long established Somersetbased auction house Dore & Rees has expanded into classic sales. This follows the addition of specialist valuer, auctioneer and lifelong classic car enthusiast Nick Wells joining its team. The next sale will take place on 18 June at the Cheese and Grain in Frome. Already consigned is one of four Sunbeam Tiger MKII prototypes, a restored car that is well known in club circles and was converted from LHD to RHD in period. Estimate £70k-£90k. CCA HEADS BACK HOME
Classic Car Auctions is to return to holding sales at its preferred venue of the Warwickshire Event Centre in Leamington Spa for its remaining three sales this year. The company was forced to relocate its sales for the last two years because of covid restrictions. Sales Manager Gary Dunne says, ‘We all look forward to returning to what we consider our spiritual home.’ The first of these sales, on 18 June, includes a nicely restored and very early 1958 Frogeye Sprite that even still has its original 948cc engine. Estimate £20-25k. See classiccarauctions.co.uk
