Classic Dirtbike

Bit of a rarity

- Ollie Rouse Email

My father has what we think is a very rare CCM C26. He has owned the bike for over 10 years and the information we have is that it was raced by the previous owner. I’m trying to find out more information/history about the bike and we are waiting to hear back from the director of CCM about production numbers. Can you or any of your readers help us? Any information would be useful.

The specification of the bike is quite high and includes 600cc Rotax four-stroke engine housed in a nickel plated frame. The forks are 50mm USDS and there are Gold Talon wheels at either end with Brembo brakes as standard.

I would love to hear back from you with any information. Peter Henshaw’s book ‘Rolling Thunder’ mentions the C26 in the context of the Paris Dakar Rally and Simon Pavey’s machine nicknamed ‘Yellow Submarine. According to Henshaw, CCM planned a batch of 50 machines. Anyone else know any different? Tim
