Loving the GTS 2

Classic Motorcycle Mechanics - - FEEDBACK -

Great write-up on the GTS1000 in the April edition and I agree with all of Mossy’s points about the looks and the weight of the bike. I have just spent 18 months doing a full rebuild of a non-abs 1992 GTS1000 and corrected a lot of the issues you raise including the rear hugger and chain-guard (now carbon YZF ones, hand carved via Dremel to fit.) Plus modified inlet and exhausts to try and get back to the original YZF horsepower. Wilber shocks back and front to bring the shocks up to date. Coupled with a Yamaha Motogp colour scheme with powder-coated frame and steering, it looks great. It would be great if you could do a follow-up article on my bike to show how a modern GTS might look. Frank Cooke
