Liam Hughes’ Laverda 650 Formula
This bike had been with its previous own for over 20 years and only had 000(ish) kilometres on it. t had invoices for recommissioning totalling near 2000 making the purchase price of 1800 a bargain in my opinion, especially for a bike that is one of only 200 made in the world! unearthed the bike on (of all places) acebook marketplace and swiftly decided it was for me, despite all the horror stories about the so called Zanë Laverda' (that means the late twins, made there between 1992-2000). ve done 500km or so and the only problem ve had is with a cold-start problem due to a faulty temperature sensor, which was replaced with a new one from an Alfa Romeo. Other than this had the wheels powder-coated orange and stuck some fresh rubber on it. or me if you can put up with the reliability roulette then these bikes are stunning and have a huge amount of high-level components, such as Brembo brakes, WP suspension, Termignoni cans and Marchesini wheels to name just a few.
