Team Allspeed – Spa 2019

-

Team Allspeed took on the four-stroke world of Endurance Legends last year at Donington, and to most people’s surprise they came 12th out of 50 teams. “The endurance bug has bitten us now,” says Tony. “We thought about building a four-stroke. As a Yamaha fan it could only be afz 750, but what dowek now abou tracing an FZ, let alone a four-stroke? So, the TZR250 is back out again! Our aim this year is to race in the dark. When it was announced that a round of the FIM European Endurance Classics would be run at July’s Spa Bikers Classic, we just had to enter. We have been to this event several times as spectators and stood in the rain watching the race into the evening, never actually thinking that this would be us one day.” Ben Miles will race for the second time on the TZR250. Andy Davies will make his debut after missing last year’s race due to food poisoning. Unfortunately, Graham Higlett, the third member of the team, can’t race due to a previous commitment to attend the CRMC meeting at Anglesey. “The bike is getting a lot of attention as this year’s biggest addition is of course lights,” adds Tony. “The quick-fill fuel system we have just fitted should substantially speed up fuel stops. We are upgrading suspension and making some new exhausts for the bike, the engine is being refreshed by PJ Engineering for us again, and lastly we are changing the faring for a TZR F3 replica to improve the rider’s view. If anyone would like to help the team with sponsorship, we would love to hear from you!”
