PRESCOTT HILL CLIMB

Prescott Bike Fest will feature a number of very special bikes this year – including some once ridden by the legendary Barry Sheene

- PICS: MORTONS ARCHIVE/PRESCOTT BIKE FEST

Come and attend this awesome event.

Abrace of Suzuki TR500S owned and raced by Barry Sheene will be joining the fabulous line-up of paddock specials, as well as being ridden up Prescott’s famous hill. These two TRS – one a tubular-framed machine and the other a futuristic monocoque design – will be one of the highlights of the weekend event. The tubular framed bike was owned by Barry and his dad Frank, while the Colin Seeley monocoque was ridden by Bazza (amongst others), stolen, recovered from a ditch, and returned to Seeley where it stayed in his loft for many years! Both machines were lovingly restored by former GP mechanic Nigel Everett. Prescott Bike Fest will take place this year over the weekend of June 15/16. The Saturday is a special preview day (12pm-5pm) and Sunday is the main show, 8.30am-5pm. Once more it will feature an extensive display of historic, custom builds (yes, including our own Allen Millyard with his RC374) race bikes, factory bikes, prototypes, shed builds and record-beating machines. That’s not all – many of these amazing machines will be fired up and then tackle the historic hill climb course! New for 2019 is Kickback, the National Custom Show and U.K. Championships, displaying the best

of custom and shed builds all under cover – a superb exhibition and showcase for contemporary customs and modified classics, featuring the 80 finalists competing for the National Custom Championships with ‘Butchered Classic’ and ‘Young Builder’ just two of the prized titles up for grabs. Kickback is a platform dedicated to young, emerging and experienced custom engineers, both pro and amateur. As a bonus, this year Prescott Bike Festival have teamed up with the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham, with every visitor receiving a 50% off voucher to visit the NMM. All proceeds from the event support the work of Nationwide Association of Blood Bikes and Severn Freewheelers. The Blood Bike charities provide a FREE vital out-of-hours medical transportation service to the NHS. Since its inception, Prescott Bike Festival has raised over £200k. The venue for this amazing event is Prescott Hill Climb, Gotherington, Cheltenham GL52 9RD. Admission costs £12 (in advance) for adults on Saturday, £15 (advance) for adults on Sunday, and under 16s free when accompanied by a paying adult. For more go to www.prescottbikefestival.co.uk
