Chris Gammage says: “I’m a subscriber, longterm fan and avid reader of CMM. I am recovering from a stroke at the moment and during my stay in hospital the magazine kept me sane and is helping with my recovery as I am unable to ride (or drive) at the moment, and my latest restoration project (1979 Honda CB750 DOHC Fast Freddie rep) is on hold too! I have ridden bikes since the age of 16, first starting out on a Yamaha FS1-E DX in yellow bought brand new in 1976 for £280! I have had several modern bikes in recent years but have gone back to the old classic Jap bikes, my current ride being the Honda which is undergoing its second restoration after I was knocked off during its maiden run last July after lockdown! A couple of pictures are attached of bikes from my past that if anyone is able to help me with I would like to track down. The first is a Suzuki GT750 Kettle (WYN 754M still on the DVLA system) with a handlebar fairing, purple custom paint job (now white on the DVLA system), and black spannies which was a formidable beast that turned into a grand tourer, taking myself and my future wife on various holidays. The other is a Yamaha RD350LC (FFO 350W still on the DVLA system) in blue/ white bought brand new in 1981 (as the receipt for a Suzuki GS750 and £510 from Mead & Tompkinson’s in Hereford) which was eventually sold when

I got married! As well as these I have owned many of the now classic Jap bikes such as a Yamaha XT500, Suzuki GS750, Yamaha DT250, Suzuki GT550, Yamaha FZR250 and my current Honda.”
