Dear Malc, What a super feature in the latest issue 174 about Biggin Hill telling the story and short history, of a littleknown venue from the true classic period. The collection of photographs, previously unseen, from the lens of Nick Nicholls, really the capture the scene and period. The one of Ginger Payne, 499 Norton flat on the tank and with a very determined look on his face is one of the best racing shots I’ve seen for a long time. The text in this feature is also excellent, what a pity Nick is no longer with us to tell us more. With regard to the Silvio Grassetti story, some years back I spoke to him at the Misano Historic GP where he was riding in the parades. Not mentioned in the story was that he was once a team mate of Geoff Duke both riding the works Benelli 250 singles during the 1959 GP season. Terry Birch Nottingham
