The CRMC was back at the spectacular Cheshire circuit for the first time in more than 10 years, with a full programme of club and ACU championship races. The weather was glorious and the racing outstanding.
The Minnovation/acu Classic 500 race developed into a superb no-holds-barred shoot-out between Joe Barton (106, Minnovation 50) and Richard Molnar (25, Molnar Manx). It was Molnar who snatched victory by just 0.165 seconds, a win that put him firmly back in championship contention.

L to R: Joe Barton (second place, Minnovation G50); winner Rich Molnar (Molnar Manx) and third place man Lee Hodge (Minnovation G50). Hodge narrowly maintains his championship lead from Barton, Mike Cooper (Craven Manx) and Molnar with only seven points separating the four men. Roll on Darley Moor!
It was an emotional meeting for Kevin Hunt/ Alan Cracknell (Patterson Imp), following the death a week earlier of Kevin’s father, Len. Former racer Len had driven the CRMC recovery truck for many years and was known by all for his cheery demeanour. He will be greatly missed within the club. Kevin and Alan celebrated his life with a brace of victories, and there was also a commemorative lap by all the sidecar teams.
