Bonhams have consigned the Adrian Reed Collection to their sale on Saturday, October 13 as part of its two-day Autumn Stafford Sale. The vast single-owner collection comprises 40 machines spanning the turn of the 20th century through to the 1960s. Highlights of the collection include a circa 1930 Henderson Model KJ Streamline Four (£25,000£35,000), a circa 1919 Henderson 1147cc Model Z Four (£25,000-£30,000) and a 1914 Indian 7hp Power Plus (£18,000-£22,000). Adrian Reed was born in East Yorkshire in 1947 and had two great passions in life, his family and his motorcycles. His love of two-wheeled machines started at an early age and he amassed an impressive and prestigious collection of bikes, accessories and parts. James Stensel, Head of Bonhams Motorcycle Department UK, commented: “We are delighted to be offering Adrian’s incredible collection at our Autumn Stafford Sale. The collection comprises so many important British and American marques and models. A fastidious engineer, Adrian had a unique ability to sympathetically restore these machines. The sale of Adrian’s collection is a celebration of motorcycle production in its finest hour and we look forward to continuing that story at Stafford.”
