CRMC DARLEY MOOR
The CRMC returned to the Derbyshire Dales circuit for the first time since 2013 and was rewarded with glorious weather that produced some ferociously quick racing during the heatwave. Graham Lawlor and Russell Lee dusted down their sunhats and heroically braved the very un-british heat to record the action.
Above: Sunday’s Minnovation/acu 500 12-lapper served up both thrilling action and some controversy as Alan Oversby (40, Davies Motorsport Honda) grabbed last lap victory after Rich Molnar (25) tipped off the Molnar Manx at the hairpin following a mechanical problem. Lee Hodge (14, Minnovation G50) was eventually awarded second place after a 10 second penalty was reviewed and overturned, with Minnovation team-mate Joe Barton (106) in third, all three riders being covered by just 0.785 seconds.
Right: Despite a small field, the sidecars provided some entertaining scrapping between the likes of Doug/andy Street (76, MRE Imp 998), David Lissaman/mark Leeton (147, Moorespeed BMW 1070) and Phil Luhr/sharon Reeves (Windle Imp 1040). Stars of the show were Ian Ashley/roy Cunningham, who powered their 750cc Pd.2 Moorespeed BMW to a brace of outright Sunday wins.Below: Ant Hart was in imperious form in the combined 125cc, 200cc and 250 Single event, easily winning all four legs on the David King RS 125 Honda.
Right: The Hercberg International/ ACU Post Classic race (Derek Minter Trophy) saw a good battle between Minnovation team-mates Lee Hodge (TZ750) and Joe Barton (P&M Kawasaki 1260). Barton set a blistering fastest lap of the weekend at 59.825secs/90.28mph, but it was Hodge who edged away in the final stages to win by 4.896 seconds. Here, Barton and Hodge are joined on the podium by Minnovation team members, while third place man Rob Wittey (Kawasaki GP 1170) looks on.
