A SOGGY ONE
The worst of the weather at the penultimate round brought out some cracking rides at BHR.
#262 Pritchard romps to his title win in the Japanese Air-cooled Championship on his Suzuki T500. Below: Mike Powell (#33) and Ian Scutt (#36) fought tooth and nail for the win in the first Bantam Championship race despite the less-than-optimal conditions. They were this close at the flag too, with Powell getting the win by a 10th of a second. Powell went on to secure two more wins, with Scutt taking the win in race three. Daniel Pritchard (Suzuki T500) was unbeatable in the 500cc Japanese Air-cooled class and took all four wins. Andrew Widdowson’s Suzuki GSX400F provided the opposition on Saturday, while Rob Bevan (Honda XL500) chased him home in both of Sunday’s races. Steve Gagg and Sylvia Hase took three wins in the BEARS sidecar class but faced stiff opposition in the wet Saturday outings from Scott Whitaker and Mark Allen, who swapped the lead with Gagg and Hase in race one before spinning at the hairpin. The two crews swapped places in race two, with Whitaker and Allen taking the win and Gagg and Hase in second.
