CRMC MALLORY PARK
The CRMC’S penultimate meeting of the season served up a massive 43-race programme of committed action as the 2018 club and ACU championships moved ever closer to their conclusions. Graham Lawlor and Russ Lee were there to see it all happen.
Twenty-two-year-old Richard Molnar (Molnar Manx, centre) won Saturday’s enthralling ACU Classic 500 race from Minnovation G50 rivals Lee Hodge (left) and Joe Barton. Molnar and Hodge constantly swapped the lead over the last three laps with Molnar grabbing victory by just 0.1 seconds.
Above: Riding the same Davies Motorsport Honda on which he had recently won the Junior Classic TT, Dominic Herbertson pulls a long train of Classic 350 Twins and European machines headed by the Minnovation AJS 7Rs of Lee Hodge (14) and Mark Cronshaw (8). Herbertson finished the weekend with two wins and two seconds on the bike. Below: Joe Barton gets his elbow, as well as knee, down en route to victory in the P/C 750 Clubman event on the Minnovation NS444R Honda two-stroke triple. And all that on intermediate tyres too.
Above: Serious sidecar action as Matt Kingsmill/paul Sands (34, MRE BMW 750) battle it out with the Lynx Saab 841 two-stroke of Richard Holmes/pete Allebone.
Below: It’s GP500 war as Mike Cooper (24, Craven Manx), Lee Hodge (obscured, Minnovation G50) and Richard Molnar (Molnar Manx) arrive simultaneously at Shaw’s Hairpin.
