I enjoyed reminiscing with Ray Knight ( Classic Racer #196) on his early years, proddie and endurance racing, he was somewhat of a muse to me, as were Hugh Evans, John Hedger (the rain/wet track never fazed him), Ron Wittich (RIP, my local then protege).

Even though I was not in their racing class, as in the 500cc class, the banter in the paddock was the same throughout us proddie racers.

I did not trust and could not afford the prevailing two-strokes, so by 1976 I was supporting single cylinder club and national racing, eventually early IHRO to 1997.

Keep up the good work – featuring these racing characters in Classic Racer reminds us ex-riders of such good times.
