GET YOUR HANDS ON ULTRA-RARE MARZOCCHI RACING FORKS
Ducati enthusiasts have a chance to get their hands on a classic piece of engineering thanks to E–N Products – the ultra-rare 1976 Marzocchi racing fork.
In 1976 Marzocchi built a new version of its popular 38mm fork that had been used by several manufacturers on their production motorcycles. These new forks were immediately recognisable from the previous version, the slider was longer, but the most recognisable difference was the two-bolt fixing on each leg for the front mudguard as opposed to a four-bolt fixing on the earlier model.
Additionally, there were numerous subtle changes to the external geometry of the fork, but these were not so obvious.
According to a contemporary Marzocchi product catalogue the new forks were intended as an aftermarket upgrade for Honda 750 and Kawasaki 900 machines, but only a very limited number of these forks were manufactured and nearly all of those were used on the very desirable NCR built Ducati race bikes of the period. Just a few sets of forks, maybe four or so, escaped and found their way into private hands. We know two sets found their way to Sports Motorcycles in Manchester and were used to great effect by a certain Mr Hailwood in the 1978 TT.
E–N Products was able to obtain a set of original forks, and the team there has reverse
engineered new replicas. The first batch of eight is scheduled for completion at the beginning of March and four pairs are already sold.
Demand is expected to be brisk so if you are interested in getting a set of these replica forks let E-N know and get your name on the list. You can get hold of E-N at: info@e-nproducts.com or e-nproducts.com
