Classic Racer

A great escape

- Publisher, Classic Racer

In a world seemingly gone absolutely mad over the last few weeks, sometimes we all just need a few minutes to escape and wind down. So welcome to a magazine which might just help in doing that.

Of course you’ll notice that some things are different... such as the fact editor Tony’s lovely mugshot, a face that only a man’s dog might love, isn’t at the top of this column... that’s because sadly he hasn’t been here to write it and finish off the edition.

Thanks to phrases we never used until only weeks ago, such as self-isolation and social distancing, it’s become a team effort to finish off this edition whichtony put together so brilliantly but was sadly out of contact for during the final few days... which means any errors are mine, not his.

However, inside you’ll find the usual mix of fantastic features and iconic images showcasing those brave souls who take to the tarmac, whether they enjoy the greatest success or not.this edition we’ve a brilliant in-depth piece about Joey Dunlop, from those who really did know him best, and a chat with Australia’s first 500cc world champ Wayne Gardner. No shrinking violet.

With all the current talk about Covid-19, events being cancelled, meetings called off and negativity potentially at hand, revelling in those track battles of yesteryear might just be the perfect antidote we all need, and we at Classic Racer will keep doing our bit.

With restrictions on travel, a perfect solution for you is to take out a subscription – not only do you get it at a great price, but we’ll make sure it gets to your door without you having to search the shelves. It’s business as usual here at CR, racers and racing have always adapted to circumstances and rule changes...

Call our team to secure your copy, and we’ll see you next time...

Stay safe out there!
