Covid and beyond!
With most of the club and ACU championships finely balanced after Cadwell and Darley, competitors departed the Derbyshire circuit with high expectations for a grandstand finish to the shortened season at Pembrey in late September, which would also incorporate the ever-popular Races of theyear.
Huge efforts were made by the CRMC and Pembrey circuit to ensure that the Welsh round would take place but as the date neared, the increasingly complex and fast moving Covid situation led to the CRMC having to announce with huge disappointment that the club and the circuit had come to the collective decision to cancel the meeting, due to reasons beyond CRMC control. Club chairman, Gordon Russell also contacted the membership: “to thank all involved in putting together the Cadwell and Darley meetings – officials, marshals, the race meeting team and of course the riders/teams who came along and raced. It was wonderful to be able to wander around a CRMC paddock chatting and forgetting all about the virus. We all hope that the season in 2021 will run through as planned and we are pleased to announce our provisional programme.”
