Mos Generator
Shadowlands
Umpteen single and album releases down the line since they formed nearly 20 years ago, Mos Generator continue to follow their own path through the heavy rock underground, always inviting the easy ‘stoner’ or ‘doom’ tag but never quite fitting neatly into any pigeon hole.
Ferocious, nimble, heavy and wildly trippy all at the same time, Shadowlands is a bit like Captain Beyond gone full-on metal, with shades of King Crimson, Sabbath and Budgie thrown in for good measure, the
title track, Drowning In Your Loving Cup and The Blasting Concept powering along on deft time changes and heavy stellar grooves, the riffs rising and crashing, with plenty of space for melody and epic gear changes. The prog and metal axis finds its ultimate expression in The Wild & Gentle Dogs, in which a disarming acoustic intro builds ominously to a surging close seven minutes later.
Metal jams to blow your mind.
