rock is alive marks the reboot of a 1980s act from stockholm known simply as Universe. Though that band’s co-founding guitarist, a pre-europe John norum, is ruled out of the reunion, andreas eklund, ex-House of shakira, turns in a powerhouse display, soaring above a slick, bombastic set of strong-arm hard-rock tunes with roots embedded in those big-haired, tight-trousered days.
