Led Zeppelin IV

-

The definitive Led Zeppelin album is one as iconic as The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper and Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side Of The Moon. Officially untitled, but known as Led Zeppelin IV or Four Symbols, it has what Page calls “the whole picture of what this band is musically”.

The power is in Black Dog, a heavy bump and grind; Rock And Roll, a joyous blast inspired by Little Richard; and When The Levee Breaks, a thundering badomen blues. The beauty is in The Battle Of Evermore, featuring folk singer Sandy Denny; the hazy Going To California; and, most of all, Stairway To Heaven, the band’s most famous song, the most sacred of rock anthems.
