Modern Art Featuring Ted Poley
Modern Art Ft. Ted Poley TED-POLEY.COM
Best known for his work with Danger Danger, Ted Poley began as a singing drummer with the new Jersey pomprockers Prophet and has spent the past three decades fronting bands such as melodica, Bonemachine and, most recently, Tokyo motor Fist. Danger Danger gig sporadically but are now seemingly out to pasture as a recording entity. But mental cogs whirred at the rockweekend Festival in stockholm when Poley crossed paths with Degreed, one of a handful of younger acts doing exciting new things within melodic hard rock.
The results of their partnership are little short of staggering. although the voice remains instantly recognisable, Poley has never sounded like this before.
new World is built upon dense, dark chords and daubed with a chorus of gold. looped drums introduce Bury me before its layered, sumptuous charms commence their earworm burrowing, and micke Jansson sprinkles his cavorting keyboards like fairy dust over everything.
