Testament: The Best Of Eden’s Curse

-

Decent symphonic rock, with potential to be better In the decade or so since multinational Eden’s Curse began, they’ve recorded some competent symphonic rock, straddling power metal, melodic rock with touches of prog. But what they’ve never quite managed to do is emulate the brilliance that Queenrÿche and Dream Theater – two obvious influences - have achieved.

This double CD spans Eden’s Curse’s career to date, with one disc drawing on album tracks while the other features their bonus material over the years, plus one new track, Forever, which carries on in the usual Eden’s Curse vein.

There are moments such as on Symphony Of Sin, No Holy Man (from CD1), Guardian Angel and Sail On (on CD2) when you can really hear the talent this band have, but for the most part all this compilation does is emphasise how their potential remains unfulfilled.
