But Aerosmith guitarist forced to cancel solo tour.
Joe Perry is resting at home after a difficult month. The Aerosmith guitarist, 68, was hospitalised following a guest appearance with Billy Joel at New York’s Madison Square Garden where he performed Walk This Way. Perry collapsed backstage and, according to website TMZ, required assistance from paramedics before he was taken to hospital. From there Perry tweeted: “Doing well, thanks for all the love and support.”
TMZ quoted sources who said Perry has been having breathing difficulties “for the last few weeks” He was later released from care, but was forced to cancel a run of solo dates and other appearances. Unsurprisingly, he is to take the rest of the year off. Perry apologised to fans for the cancellations.
