ZZ Top, Waters and Springsteen in film action.

-

ZZ Top are to be the stars of a 50th-anniversary documentary that traces their career from formation in Houston in 1969 to the present day. Titled That Little Ol’ Band From Texas, it includes previously unseen footage, and appearances by actor Billy Bob Thornton and Queens Of The Stone Age’s Josh Homme.

A new concert film by Roger Waters charting his Us + Them tour heads to cinemas on October 2 and 6. It’s described by the former Pink Floyd man as a “creatively pioneering film that inspires with its powerful music and message of human rights, liberty and love”.

And look out for Bruce Springsteen’s film Western Stars, which premieres next month at the Toronto International Film Festival. Conceived by Springsteen as an alternative to touring, the “intimate and personal concert film” follows The Boss and his band performing song from current album Western Stars.
