Audio-visual magnificence.
It takes more than a little arrogance to record a live album at such a prestigious location as the Ancient Roman Theatre in the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv, with only one studio album behind you. But that’s what Sons Of Apollo have attempted – and succeeded in pulling off.
Available in multiple formats, including Blu-ray and DVD discs packaged with three CDs, this is a lavish release that does the band proud. The performance is stunning. Naturally, there’s material from their 2017 debut album Psychotic Symphony, but the five-piece also add covers of classics from Queen, Aerosmith, Zeppelin, Rainbow and Ozzy, and incorporate these into their own impressive style and stride.
A breathtaking presentation. ■■■■■■■■■■
