Teed up by hit single, Love That We Once Knew, Trout’s second solo album was a monster seller across Europe (in Holland, it pipped Bon Jovi and Bryan Adams to the top spot). Tougher moments like False Alarm and rug-cutters like the irrepressi­ble Victor The Cajun still endure, but for Trout, this breakthrou­gh release ultimately left a sour taste. “Six weeks after the album came out, I go to see the original label – which was called Bozz Of Electra – at their offices in Copenhagen, to get a cheque.
