Charlie & The Wide Boys Updated 1960s beat music. Cornwall’s Wide Boys described their image as “no platform boots and trousers slightly tapered”.

How Long – Ace An early highlight of composer Paul Carrack’s long and distinguis­hed career as a vocalist, this was one of pub rock’s few hit singles.

Speedway – Kursaal Flyers A staple of the Kursaals’ entertaini­ng live show, the speedway rider’s lament was the group’s debut single for UK Records.

She Does It Right – Dr. Feelgood Wilko Johnson’s debut compositio­n was first aired on Bob Harris’s BBC radio show and showcases blistering vocals from Lee Brilleaux.
