Do You Feel Like I Do?
Peter Frampton with Alan Light HATCHETTE
A rollickingly fun read.
It’s easy to see Peter Frampton as that bloke who was massive in the 70s, and that’s all. But his memoir adds substance to that bare fact. And he does it in such a relaxed manner that you cannot help but like him.
Of course, there’s loads of name dropping and tales about the high life. But Frampton unflinchingly takes the reader behind the scenes, strips away the veneer of stardom and is able to give insight into what it’s been like to be this kid from South London who became a rock giant.
There’s loads of humour, as well as naivete, plus tales of encounters with the Mafia and also President of the United States Gerald Ford. You’re left with the feeling that Frampton cannot believe the bonkers journey life has taken him on.
An articulate autobiography from someone obviously in love with music. ■■■■■■■■■■
