Ringo Starr

Zoom In EP

- Phoebe Flys

UMC Capsule collection takes Ringo’s popular mantra ‘peace and love’ to extremes.

The peace: Zoom In, Zoom Out reminds us that our human connection transcends all barriers. The philosophical Waiting For The Tide To Turn is rooted in reggae and features Tony Chen on guitar, while Starr ties up an impressive groove with Nathan East on bass. Teach Me To Tango

is an easy-going musical shrug towards going with the flow.

The love: Here’s To The Nights,

Diane Warren’s nostalgic ode to friendship best suited to the rowdy conclusion of a night at the pub. ‘Here’s to the nights we won’t remember with friends we won’t forget.’ Such friends include guest singers including Paul McCartney, Dave Grohl and Sheryl Crow. Not Enough Love In The World, written by Steve Lukather and Joseph Williams, is reflective but delivers its sentiment with aplomb.

In these fraught times, Ringo has given us expertly produced and pensive meditations on the bigger picture. ■■■■■■■■■■
