Black Spiders

- Sleazegrinder

DARK RIDERS Get ready to feel the doom all over again.

Hefty Sheffield doom rockers Black Spiders bid us all an unceremonious adieu back in 2017. Then while you and I spent the past few years desperately trying to piece our shattered lives back together, they went ahead and got the band back together. With tears wiped and knobs turned forcefully to the right, the good times are most definitely back.

Black Spiders is the sort of comeback album you always hope for but rarely receive: a confident and positively feral return to form, a full-barrel blast of their gnarly Sabbath-onspeed gut munchers that sound, crazily, like Kiss playing Pentagram covers. Or vice versa. Either way, if you’re not bowled over by the corrosive superdoom of Wizard Shall Not Kill Wizard, furious headbanger Death Comes Creepin’ or the sleazy hell-yeah of Rock N’ Roll,

then you’re probably reading the wrong magazine.

Something for everybody, and all of it a total monster. ■■■■■■■■■■
