Tapping into their flow again – 20 years later.

Having released two albums of breakneck prog-fusion instrumentals in 1998 and 1999, Liquid Tension (aka Mike Portnoy, John

Petrucci and Jordan Rudess from Dream Theater, plus Tony Levin from King Crimson/Peter Gabriel) never found the time between day jobs and side projects to hook up again. But last summer the four of them quarantined, tested and got down to business.

It’s a seamless continuation. They may all be 20 years older, but age has not dimmed their nimble fingers or their musical wits, and the well they’re drawing from is apparently inexhaustible, although they have branched out with a meticulously arranged cover of Gershwin’s Rhapsody In Blue. ■■■■■■■■■■
