Citizen
Life In Your Glass World
It’s got a good beat.
Described by the band as the first selfsufficient Citizen album – they recorded in a home studio built in vocalist Mat Kerekes’s garage – Life In Your Glass Word finds Citizen taking their intense post-hardcore anthems into new territories by injecting a nifty bit of indie disco into the mix.
Mostly recorded with a tight focus on the bass and drums, the songs benefit hugely from a rock-solid rhythmic foundation, whether it’s the shimmering, sparse and spare Glass World, Blue Sunday and Thin Air, or the addictively danceable Black And Red, I Want To Kill You, Death Dance Approximately and Call Your Bluff. Beautifully angry tunes cunningly made more accessible through the application of killer dance grooves. Very clever, gents. ■■■■■■■■■■
