Island life is over for SM
Citroën launched the Maseratiengined SM in 1970. Some 12,290 of these cars were produced over a four-year period, and the story of one that was despatched new to the island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean has surfaced via www.postwarclassic.com
The car was a present from the French government to the island’s Minister of Tourism. “At one point it stood derelict on the island and that’s when the current owner, a car collector, decided to park it behind his restaurant,” said local Guido Kroos. “Never before have I come across a car in such a state!”
