Self-taught Fraser has become one of the UK’S prime upholsterers of vintage and classic cars, but he’s passionate about preservation, too. Using period machines, he can repair any trim, or even create a new interior from scratch (plus the odd Riley felt oil filter if you ask nicely). He’ll spend hours saving patinated original leather, be it ‘WO’ Bentley or DB5 – and you can see the evidence in Bicester boss Dan Geoghegan’s Alvis. He can only fit one car at a time in his workshop in The Western Tanker Sheds, but a retrim can take three to four weeks, and he’s booked up months in advance.
