“This is my first Day­tona, but I’ve had a 400, 412, 330 and 365GTC/4. The lat­ter was lovely to drive, with fac­tory hy­draulic power steer­ing – my car’s elec­tric sys­tem is a bit light, like a Jaguar XJ-S. But I love the car: it is the ex-col Ron­nie Hoare Day­tona, de­liv­ered in March 1972, fea­tured in an Au­to­car group test in 1973, and later part of the Maranello Sales his­toric fleet from 2001-’04.

“It doesn’t have a bad an­gle, and it’s prac­ti­cal so I use it quite a lot.

It’s also easy to live with: it costs £2-3k a year to run and al­ways starts, even if it’s left for months.”
