Over half a million visitors enjoyed the Regent Street Motor Show on 3 November, the eve of the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, with exhibits ranging from Victorian to brand new. More than 100 Run participants entered the Veteran Car Concours d’elegance, which was won by Harold Pritchard’s 1903 De Dion-bouton W-type for the second time.

The Volkswagen Beetle’s 80th was celebrated in a display with the real ‘Herbie’ from Disney’s The Love Bug, while the Jaguar Drivers’ Club marked the 70th anniversaries of the XK and MKV, and the XJ’S half-century. Another silver-screen car, a Back to the Future Delorean (above), was on hand to delight the crowds. It was also time to bring out the bunting on the Silverstone Classic stand, with cars representing the British Rally and British Touring Car Championships, both of which hit 60 in 2018.
