Support for apprentices
The Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs (FBHVC) has announced a new partnership with Cambridge & Counties Bank, to support the Heritage Engineering Apprenticeships scheme.
It will provide a £10,000 bursary that apprentices at Bicester Heritage’s Heritage Skills Academy will be able to apply for to help cover their living costs. In addition, the bank will now be involved in the business and financial-management modules within the curriculum, to give students the tools they need to run their own businesses.
The Advanced Diploma in Heritage Engineering course, which covers classic cars, aviation, marine and steam, is aimed towards 16- to 18-year-olds and is the only one of its kind accredited by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations (OFQUAL).
