FIVE DECADES IN THE LAKES

The Vintage Sports-car Club marked 50 years of the Lakeland Trial with the 2018 running on 10 November. More than 90 prewar cars took part, with overall honours shared by Donald Skelton, William Mcvickar and Eddie Williams – all in Austin Sevens.

Malcolm Gordon took the Roy Paterson Award for the highestplaced member, in another Seven; Rob Hubbard (Vauxhall 30-98) prevailed in the Long-wheelbase Modified division; Tudor Roberts was first in the Long-wheelbase Standard class in his 30-98; and David Leigh topped the Shortwheelbase Standard group behind the wheel of his Frazer Nash.
