‘Humpy’ left out
Regarding the article about overseas car releases in 1948 (C&SC, September), I understand that space is limited but General Motors Holden (GMH) released its first car in November 1948 – this event was of great importance to the people of Australia at the time.
It was the 48-215 (FX) sedan, powered by a 132cu in (2163cc) sixcylinder engine with a three-speed manual transmission. The car was so popular that there was a twoyear waiting list. Sadly, Holden stopped producing cars in 2017.
