Concours gains C&SC support
C&SC is joining forces with the magnificent Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace to further our support of the UK carclub scene. Plus, readers will have exclusive access to the Richmondbased event from 6-8 September.
This year’s club displays are being hosted in association with Classic & Sports Car and we’ll be joining renowned classic enthusiast Prince Michael of Kent in judging the prestigious Club Trophy, the winner of which will secure a place in the main concours next year.
C&SC is also proud to be hosting The Classic & Sports Car Car Park on the green outside Hampton Court Palace, exclusive to our readers and spearheaded by members of the Our classics fleet (providing they make it in one piece!).
The centrepiece of the concours will be a set of 60 machines, which should include the Ballot 3/8 LC that won the first-ever Italian GP in 1921 and was later owned and raced by Sir Malcolm Campbell.
Four glorious Ferrari 166MMS, including Gianni Agnelli’s own car and the Barchetta that was victorious in both the 1949 Mille Miglia and Le Mans 24 Hours, will be on display, and there will be a worldfirst celebration of Aston Martin and Zagato featuring one of every Aston Martin Zagato variant ever built, from DB4GT Zagato to Virage Shooting Brake Zagato Centennial. A collection of Bentleys will mark its centenary.
Tickets are available to readers at the special discounted rate of £25 each for either Saturday 7 or Sunday 8 September; head to concoursofelegance.co.uk and quote ‘CSCVIP’. Remember to book your place in our free car park if you plan to arrive in a pre-’79 classic. Places are limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.
